Change in DIN
What is a Change in DIN (Form DIR-6 Filing)?
A Change in DIN means updating or correcting the particulars linked with an existing Director Identification Number in the records of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
A Director Identification Number, commonly known as DIN, is allotted to an individual for identification as a director. DIN itself normally continues to remain the same, but the personal particulars associated with it may change over time.
Individuals who do not already have a DIN and are required to obtain one can refer to Ebizfiling's
DIN Application
service.
Under Rule 12(1) of the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014, an individual who has already been allotted a DIN must intimate any applicable change in the particulars originally furnished for the DIN through Form DIR-6 within 30 days of the change.
Form DIR-6 is therefore used for modifying eligible DIN particulars such as a change or correction in name, residential address, nationality, and other prescribed personal details supported by relevant documents.
The DIN number itself does not normally change after filing DIR-6.
